Cats family. There"s no such thing as a cat owner. Nobody owns a cat. Quite the contrary. My three cats think they own me and they are right. I feed my cats before I eat my own breakfast. I clean their litter boxes when I would rather do something else. I have to wear long sleeves of a thick material and leather gloves to get one of them into the cat carrier to go to the vet. They consider me their territory and fight over who gets to sit or lie on me. But I love them all. The basic problem with Cats is that the piece is conceptual. It"s a theatrical extravaganza that utilised dance and song to be a celebration of the form and feel of live theatre.
Hopper (as with the ever do lacklustre Les Miserables) shows that he is a workmanlike director with no particular vision. His default seems to be point the camera and crew and hope for the best. They can work when you have Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush but CATS needed a concept that celebrates the movie musical just in the same way the West End and Broadway versions celebrated the live musical experience. It is an epic failure of vision and artistry from the director that kills this project dead.

Most of the people rating this film hasnt even see it. Its well directed and the cast is likeable. I like that kind of movie where music is the front key and cinematography is in the second.

I feel like this film couldve easily been titled “Far Cry.”. This is a rare occasion. Usually, when it comes to horror films Chris is right on the money, but here I think he missed a mark1. Midsommar is a masterpiece.

The Midsommar director’s cut will be opening in select theaters nationwide this weekend. This cut features new and extended scenes and brings the total runtime to 171 minutes. So break out your flower crowns, stir up some special herbal tea, and get ready to dance your ass around the maypole all over again. Midsommar Director’s Cut Midsommar is one of the year’s best films – and now there’s even more of it to go around. Ari Aster ‘s brightly lit, surprisingly funny folk horror film was already long in its theatrical form, clocking-in at 147 minutes. But Aster’s preferred cut of the film was even longer – 171 minutes, to be precise. This director’s cut screened recently in NYC, and it was presumed it would be included on the upcoming home video release. But it isn’t – the director’s cut doesn’t appear on either the digital release or the Blu-ray, for reasons unknown (my guess: a double-dip is in our future). But fret not – you’ll (probably) still be able to see the director’s cut for yourself. Because A24 is rolling it out in select theaters this weekend. You can get tickets here. When our own Ben Pearson asked Aster about his director’s cut, the filmmaker responded: “I would say my preferred cut would have been maybe 25 minutes longer, but I actually feel like this cut is the most accessible cut.
